Mr. Benjamin Sanders, 79, of Calico Rock, Arkansas passed away on January 19, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1943 to Zane and Reba Sanders. Ben enjoyed fishing, science, nature and animals. He was in the Medical field for 40 years. He was a Master Naturalist and Mason. He had an Associates of Arts degree at Hannibal-LaGrange University and a Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Central Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Zane and Reba, Marilyn Sanders and daughter, Rebecca Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Gloriaann and daughters, Jennifer Speciale and Kristine Toth, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are made in the care of Roller Funeral Home.

So sorry to learn of his passing. I only met him a few times, but he was full of fun and good will. And he had interesting stories to tell me of the history of Calico Rock and the River View Hotel.

Ben and his parents we great friends of my parents. I grew up knowing Reba and Zane and BennyOwen as household names. This town had many close families in the mid 40's to the 50's. I think mother, Melba Garner, then living in apt above their residence, helped with Ben as a baby. I say all of this in much sadness at the loss of Ben. He is the last of that close family tie that now fills my memory. Many condolences to the family. God bless you all.❤
