Ashley Breanna Harkrider, age 26, of Harrison, passed away with her family on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1996, in Harrison to David Alan and Stephanie Mathis Harkrider.

A lifelong Southern Hills Baptist Church member, she was saved at the age of 10 while attending Rock Haven Bible Camp. Ashley graduated from Harrison High School in 2014 where she excelled at playing softball, which she loved so much, starting with tee-ball. She also enjoyed outdoor activities including kayaking, fishing, and camping on Bull Shoals Lake. She had worked at Arkansas Wood Products and was an extreme couponer. She was known for her infectious loud laugh, beautiful smile, and giving everyone she would get to know, a unique nickname.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandfather, Kim Mathis, and her uncle, Kevan Mathis.

She is survived by her mother, Stephanie Keener of Harrison; sisters and brother-in-law, Kimberly Mathis of Harrison and Kayla and David Mondy of Harrison; Grandmother, Debbie Dye; Great grandmother, Veda Jo Mathis; her dog, Streak and a host of family and friends.


Visitation was Monday, January 9, 2023, at Southern Hills Baptist Church.

The funeral service was Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Chris Adams officiating.

Interment was in White Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roger Harness, Bill Fore, James Dye, Jacob Little, Jackson Little, and Luke Adams. Honorary Pallbearers were Ashley's former teammates.
