of Pocahontas, AR
May 12, 1938 - December 20, 2022
Willie Clifton Wilson, Sr. (A.K.A. Big Willie), age 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He was born on Thursday, May 5, 1928 in Elaine, Arkansas to the late George Issic Wilson and Irene Lucille Sibly. Cliff was a loving and devoted husband. He was a man devoted to his family above all else. Cliff lived a life of sacrifice for his family. He was a stern father with high expectations of his children (and you better take your hat off at his table). He was faithful to his job for 30 years, as he kept the roads graded in Lee County. He loved wood working and carpentry. Cliff also loved having a good garden, where he raised some of the best tomatoes on County Farm Hill. He made something from nothing as he built a home and raised his family at Route 4 Box 5070 on County Farm Hill. His home was open to anyone, but if you stayed you followed his rules. As Uncle Buddy said, Cliff was like a second dad to him. Cliff retired and moved to Squirrel Road, between Imboden and Pocahontas, Arkansas, where he lived out the rest of his days (and hated them dang rocks) as he would say. Cliff finished his race, satisfied in life, with no regrets. Cliff loved the Lord and now resides with Jesus and those whom stayed behind look forward to seeing him soon.
He is survived by his wife, Glen Dean Wilson; three sons, Willie C. Wilson, Jr. of Imboden, Arkansas, James Earl Wilson of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Tracy Lynn Wilson of Wynne, Arkansas; one daughter, Polly Ann Wilson Hurt of Wynne, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Kirsten Godwin (Caleb), Jody Odel, Blakley Walker (Grant), Ashley Buell (Andy), Catie Davis (Kevin), Zach Wilson (Carrie) and Zeb Wilson (Makenzi); eleven great-grand-children; two sisters, Virgy Tillman of Manard, Arkansas and Valley Ray of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and two brothers, Frank Wilson of Imboden, Arkansas and Tom Wilson of Ashflat, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Harper and three brothers, David, Lewis and Larry Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Wilson, George Wilson, Keith Wilson, Kevan Wilson, Khris Wilson and Clifton Wilson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Wilson.

Dear Wilson Family,
So sorry to hear of Clifford passing. I can't help but think of how Bob, David and Clifford would just laugh and laugh about rat hunting down at Old Town. I'm sure they are all catching up.
Love
Jackie
