**NOTICE** Due to the potential of inclement weather, the visitation and service times have changed to Tuesday and Wednesday.


Joseph E. Gilliam, age 73, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 in Conroe, Texas. He was born, on June 4, 1949 in Gilmore, Texas to Paul Morris and Myra Dean (White) Gilliam. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister.

Joe enjoyed playing poker, drinking Dr. Pepper and watching old Westerns and game shows on TV. He loved to attend his family's activities while cheering them on. He was a Marine and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a police officer for over 35 years serving the communities of Houston, Texas and Harrison, AR and achieved the rank of Captain before his retirement. After retirement, he worked at Auto Zone as he enjoyed working on cars and was a mechanic. He also enjoyed bowling and was on a couple of teams.

Joe is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Mickey Graham and Cara and Clayton Stonesifer; his sons and daughters-in-law, Joey and Nicole Gilliam and Scotty and Averil Gilliam; his grandchildren, James Berry and Matthew Graham, Kaitlin Ingle, Drake and Avery William, Andrew Gilliam, Paxton and Lane Stonesifer, Asher Gilliam, Amiya Morrow and one on the way; two brothers; four sisters and a slew of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Cross Roads Community Church.

The interment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Our prayers go out to the family, our family had known Joe and his family many years. He lived in our area for years and our children went to school together. Joe you will be missed but will see you again someday. Heaven received a blessed Angel. God bless your family.
