Gladys Louise Morton, age 93, Carrollton Mississippi passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. She was born on Thursday, May 23, 1929 in Shaw, Mississippi to the late Vernon McCool and Minnie Akins. She was a post master with Lambrook and St. Charles post office, a bookkeeper and a city clerk in St. Charles. She was also a member at St. Charles Baptist Church in St. Charles, Arkansas.
She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Williamson (James her favorite son in law) of Carrollton, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Brett Williamson (Carly) of Gulfport, Mississippi, Anthony "AJ" Williamson of Carrollton, Mississippi and Jenna Rhea Pittman (Brian) of Harker Heights, Texas; four great grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Alexis Williamson, Preston Pittman and Camryn Pittman and sister, Mildred Kemp Pierce of Sunflower, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thadeus Oswald Morton and brother, E.E McCool.
A funeral service for Gladys Louise Morton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas prior to service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother Dustin Logan will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joe Williamson, Joseph Williamson, John Davis Williamson, Jamie Williamson, Greg Faulkner and Danny Vaden.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Miller.

Charlotte, I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you called to tell me. Your parents and grandmother meant a lot to me when we were kids. I loved my talks with her these last few years too. I loved you all and you are in my prayers.

Aunt Louise, affectionately referred to as "Boo" was my favorite aunt. She was always doing good things for me and my siblings as we were growing up. We often visited Boo and Uncle Os in their home in Lambrook, AR. I sometimes stayed a week or more in the summer months in my grade school days. In later childhood days, I helped out in Boo and Os's grocery store and in the small post office in one corner of their store. I will never forget those good times with Boo and Os, Charlotte and Grandma McCool.
