Alma Frances Raper

of Benton, AR

February 16, 1940 - October 26, 2022

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, Alma Frances Raper, our beloved mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Benton, Arkansas.

Alma was born February 16, 1940, the thirteenth of fifteen children in the family home in Malvern, Arkansas to the late James D Cash and Frances (McDougal) Cash. She attended Glen Rose School and the Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church. While working at a local café she met budding insurance man Charles Raper and they married October 8, 1961. She was dedicated to her family, friends and church. As a homemaker she was always ready to help with food, cleaning, understanding shoulder, or to hold a hand for anyone. She enjoyed her yard work, cooking, seasonal decorating and always ready to take a paint brush and redo any room. She faithfully attended and served Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

In March 2020, she was found to have cancer and after surgery began treatments. She was seldom physically sick and kept a positive attitude. Recently her hair had grown back and she had received cataract correction on her eyes. She had taken on new eyes and spirit. She continued to see every day as blessing from God.

Alma is survived by her loving sons, Barry and C. Bryon (Deena Dove) Raper; her siblings, Alton Cash, Lorene Wise, Catherine Inmon, Shirley Evans and Joan Bowers; grandchildren, Lindsey, Dillon and Shane Raper and her great-grandchildren, Kaydence Winkler, Preslea Richard, Camden Dodson and Zella and Nyxon Raper and Zsa Zsa Raper. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Raper and son, Ricky Lucy; brothers, Ellis, Edward, Charles J. Raymond, Morris and Clenton Cash; sisters, Hazel Hughes, Letty Burks and Thelma Baggett.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 31, 2022. Alma's funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 P.M. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd, Benton. Interment will be in Fairplay Cemetery, Benton, Arkansas.
