William H. (Bookie) Boekholder of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his home. He was born September 1, 1936 in Freeport, IL to the late Gerald and Margaret Boekholder.
William graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa in 1955. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959. He married Theresa M. Wewers on April 23, 1960 in Fort Smith, AR. To this union 2 children were born, Deborah and William.
He spent many years in the Boy Scouts, earning the St. George Award for Catholic Scouting, the Silver Beaver and Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a lifetime member of The Knights of Columbus rising to the level of Forth Degree. He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 28 years.
After moving to Mountain Home in October 2000, he has been a volunteer at the Mountain Home Christian Clinic.
Mr. Boekholder is survived by his wife, Theresa Boekholder of the home; his daughter, Deborah (Paul) Irving of Union Gap, Washington and son, William (Kathy) Boekholder of Freeport IL. Grandchildren, Geoffrey (Ashley) Boekholder of Wisconsin, Zachary (Rachel) of Colorado and Benjamin Irving; great-granddaughter, Elinore Rose; brothers, Gerald (Judy) Boekholder, Jack (Barbara) Boekholder; sisters, Nancy (Bill) Brooks, Claire (Randy) Kaiser and Mary Margaret Boekholder and step siblings, Millie Hodapp, David (Ann) McLaughlin.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; step-brother, Father William McLaughlin and step-sister, Catherine Cash.
A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, October 20 at 11:00 am at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home with Father William Wewers OSB Celebrant. Burial of cremains will take place immediately following the service at Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Memorials may be made to Subiaco Abbey and St. Scholastica Monastery.

Theresa, Bill and Debbie. I just heard of Bill's passing and want to give you my condolences. Bookie was a very influential and key figure in my life. I learned a great deal from him. Bill and Debbie, he was very proud of you and your accomplishments. Theresa, thank you for always sharing him with the scouts. He will be missed as he touched so many lives.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of Bill. I recall working with Bill at many Scouting events and he always exemplified the great qualities of a leader.

Theresa: You both are in our prayers. He will be missed by so many & St. Peters has lost another Rock of an example and a leader. However, He has taken another step, in what is the goal of all. Hopefully we will all meet again.

So very sorry for your loss. I have many memories of laughing and serving with Bookie at the Christian Clinic. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Nancy and I are so sad to hear of Bill's passing. It has left me with a heavy heart. I so enjoyed our conversations while out working in the yard and please know that we are just a few steps away should you need anything. We pray for GODs comfort in this time of sorrow
