Brenda K. Patrick

of Conway, AR

March 8, 1945 - October 2, 2022

Brenda K. Patrick was born on March 8, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, but Conway was her home for most of her life. She went to meet Jesus on Sunday, October 2, 2022. She crammed a lot of life in her 77 years! She never met a stranger. She loved horseback riding, roller skating and fishing when she was younger and she loved reading, traveling, cooking and family time when she was older. Cooking and baking were a passion, a joy and a mission for her. The love of Jesus shown in her as she was always looking to give to others within and outside of her family. At every family gathering she cooked enough for an army, so she could deliver leftovers to the neighbors. She baked 20-30 dozen cookies for Antioch's Bethlehem Revisited each December. She baked many desserts for the youth auctions too. She loved cooking and creating dishes so much that she contributed to several cookbooks. She loved planting a garden each year. She loved riding motorcycles and jeeps with her love, Ernie. She was his "shining star". She was also a talented bowler in the local women's league for years, winning awards and traveling to tournaments. Despite working full-time, she made it to all the concerts, plays and karate tournaments for her 2 children. When the grandkids came along, she developed a passion for going to soccer games and other new activities, as she watched them grow. And just last year she got to add a great-grandchild that she couldn't wait to spoil. His first smile was in her lap and she witnessed his first steps.

She began working at 11 years old at the Hotel Bachelor in Conway, where her grandmother was the cook, she held may jobs after that, with the last and longest being 41 years at CHDC. She loved giving to others more than ever getting any gifts herself.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Fairy Morgan; father, Jackie Hunt; grandparents, Cecil and Allie Henderson; aunt, Oleva Lynn; grandson, Craig Patrick; sister, Bonita Williams and brother, Rick Morgan.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Ernie Patrick; daughter, Renee Little (Neil); granddaughter, Kayleigh Smith (Ryan) and great-grandson, Kelley James Smith, all of Conway. Grandson, Hunter Little (Nicole) of Maumelle; sisters, Peggy Morgan and Paula Linn of Greenbrier; son, Chris Patrick and granddaughter, Maddison Patrick Chantangsu and a host of cousins, extended family and well loved friends.

The Memorial will be at Antioch Baptist Church, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 with a visitation at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, you can send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

So sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. Brenda and I used to skate back in the 50's and 60's at Buddy's Roller Rink in Conway. She taught me how to dance on skates like she did. I really enjoyed skating with her. My heart go's out to the family. Rest in peace Brenda.

Brenda and Ernie lived around corner from me in the 60’s before we moved to property we bought just east of Conway. Ernie worked with my husband in Mobile home manufacturing.

Brenda and my mother worked together at CHDC. She was a wonderful person and a devoted wife.

I loved working with Brenda-she was our team secretary for many years. Perry and I also bowled with Brenda when CHDC had a bowling league-she was very competitive but oh so much fun! I’m so sorry for your loss.

Ernie and family I am so very sorry you lost Brenda. What a wonderful, dynamic person she was. I never saw her in town or in Walmart when she didn’t make me realize how lucky I was to have her for a friend. She was always in a great mood and brought you right along with her. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
