Robert Roe

of Omaha, AR

January 19, 1941 - September 28, 2022

Robert "Bob" Roe, age 81, of Omaha, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, (2022). He was born on January 19, 1941, the son of James and Effie (Middleton) Roe, and was married to Lena (Terherst) for 62 years.

Bob retired from dairy farming after 32 years. Bob was a farmer through and through. There was never a time he did not have sheep and cattle in his fields. A long-time member of the Stock Dog Association, he showed his border collies with pride. Bob enjoyed aggravating family, friends, and even strangers. Most knew him as a jokester. He enjoyed going to Omaha and McDonald's to drink coffee with his friends. He did not miss a day going up to the coffee shop, as we called it. He attended The Cowboy Church of Green Forest and loved his church family. He loved his family with all his heart and he will be missed dearly.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lena, of Omaha; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sam Roe, of Omaha; his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Kevin Howell, of Omaha; his grandchildren, Amy Bunt and husband, Rudy of Centerton, Shelly Epperly and husband, Aaron of Green Forest, James Roe and wife, Lizzie of Omaha, Christy Wray and husband, Josh of Omaha and his eight great-grandchildren, Braden, Emily, Kiley, Dalton, Ella, Nila, Levi, and Bryson; his sister-in-law, Lou Etta Roe, of Bergman and a host of other family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Homer Roe, and wife, Mildred and Jim Roe; his sisters, Louise Luney and husband, Clifford, May Barnes and husband, Lewis and Virgie Stone and husband, Junior.

Visitation was Monday, October 3rd, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.

Celebration of Life service was Tuesday, October 4th, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Doug Blevins and Kenny Asbury officiating. Interment followed at Burlington Cemetery in Omaha, Arkansas.

I’m so sorry to hear about Robert’s passing. My daddy sure did admire him and considered him a good friend. I’m sure Robert joined in the mischief Daddy and Waldo created at the ASCS office. I have fond memories of going to your house for fish fries when my husband was in school and my son was little. It brings back good memories. I still have a pie recipe I got from Lena. Those ASCS ladies were good cooks. Lena, you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Bob’s family: Didn’t have the pleasure of meeting any of you personally, but feel I know you just from traveling on the Jail Standards Committee with Bob for several years. He was a fun guy, always full of fun stories. He made our trips very enjoyable, always needing to take a recess for a cup of coffee and go outside for a cigarette. First thing when we would meet up, he would have a new joke for me, I have missed him on our last inspections. He spoke proudly of all his family and his dogs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Prayers for all of you. Kaye House

I only have one concern. Who is going to call me and plan a scheme to aggrivate my brother That one was for you Uncle Bob! I'll do my best to carry on our tradition. I can see that mischievous smile on your face now.

Bob, you have been A friend most of my life. We have talked about when we played basketball, you at Omaha and I played at Valley Springs. You all beat us 3 times that year but we got in the finals of district and we beat you all. I use to rub that in as much as I could. Bob you are a much better place. Rest in peace, Brother.
