Curtis ''The Fox'' Raper, 88, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born to Mr. Andrew David Raper and Mrs. Sula Gardner Raper in Tupelo, Mississippi, on December 1, 1933. His interests included hunting and fishing, gaming at the casinos, and playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived; by his former wife and lifelong companion, Evelyn Heavener. One son, Thomas Heavener (Marissa); four daughters, Connie Heavener Dail (Margie Poole), Sheila Kinney (Michael), Marie Raper Tucker (Randolph), Vanessa Heavener; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Crumpton (Jack), Taylor Kinney, Stevie Acang, Ashley Kinney, Jordan Boyd (Casey), Bradley Heavener, Amber Elizabeth Lesley (Chris); five great-grandchildren, Caiden, Carter, Cannon Acang, Madeline Grace Crumpton, Creed Boyd and Nathaniel Hayze Crumpton, who will make his arrival in late December 2022.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, William ''Puggy'' Lesley; three brothers, Lawrence Gardner, Albert Raper, Earl Raper, and Charles Raper; two sisters, Odell Towery and Traney Mae Raper. He was affectionately known by a host of nieces and nephews as ''Uncle Curt.''
Visitation will be at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas on Friday, October 7, from 5:00 7:00 pm. The interment will be private.

Sheila, Vanessa, Bubba and Connie. I am so sorry for your loss. May God give you strength and comfort during this time. I am praying for all of you and your families. We definitely have some stories from years ago. If walls could talk. I love all of you. I ask Jesus to surround you with Angel's. Curt loved Evelyn and all of you so much. Hold on to all the great memories y'all created as a family.

Curt worked for me at mud lake when I moved here from Montana and became a member of the family. My boys loved him to death. He will be sorely missed.
