MaryAnn Remington

of Mountain Home, AR

November 22, 1931 - September 13, 2022

MaryAnn Violet Coursolle Remington was born into a large family in Princeton, Minnesota on November 22, 1931. She is the last to join her 5 siblings in heaven, departing this life in her sleep late in the evening of September 13, 2022. Her love of life and strong faith gave Maryann the strength she needed to overcome the many obstacles life threw her way.

Maryann traveled the world, having lived in Germany, California, Colorado, and Arkansas. She loved to visit friends and family whenever traveling and spent many weeks on the roads throughout the U.S in the RV. Summers were often spent in Minnesota fishing and playing cards with family.

Some of her proudest moments include her work for NASA on the Apollo Command Module at North American Aviation in Downey, California, where she often bumped into some of the astronauts that went to the moon.

She was also the private secretary to the Governor of Minnesota where she met Bob Remington who worked at the same Federal building. They were later married and enjoyed many years together.

MaryAnn was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She served in numerous ways including hosting a grief group, a weekly Bible study, and helped implement a monthly communion service at Sycamore Springs Senior Living.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Remington, her parents, and her siblings.

She is survived by her greatest love, her son, Randy who filled her life with joy up until the very end as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church.

I wish that I had known MaryAnn better but I certainly was aware of the many ways she served in the church. I only learned last year that she and I shared a birthdate, Nov. 22nd, along with Sue Storm and Patty Budolfson, also from the church. RIP MaryAnn

Was an honor to know and visit with Mary Ann and her husband in church and also to be a friend on facebook. Loved her humor and zest for life. My sympathy to all her family.
