Major (Ret) Donald Ray Sullivan, 86, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at his home. Donald was born March 14, 1936 to the late Don Sullivan and Bernice Majors-Sullivan.
He was a 1954 graduate of Star City High School and a 1958 graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Donald Ray Sullivan was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Paul Sullivan and Brian Joseph Sullivan; a grandson, Timothy Luke Stalnaker and a brother, George Ronald Sullivan.
He was survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie Sullivan of Conway; five sons, Michael Sullivan, Donald Ray Sullivan II, Mark Sullivan, Stephen (Patty) Sullivan, Robert (Meriam) Sullivan; daughter, Theresa (Jeff) Stalnaker; sister, Sandra (Runchey) Robertson; grandchildren, Audrey (Joseph) Clinesmith, Mary Catherine (Matthew) Newman, Jonathan (Abbie) Stalnaker, Christopher Stalnaker, Chloe Sullivan, Lillian Sullivan, Myles Baker and great grandchildren, Maxine Newman, Aidan Clinesmith, Sawyer Stalnaker and Luke Stalnaker.
Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway on Friday, September 23, 2022, beginning with a Rosary at 12:00 PM and Visitation to follow until 1:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM, followed by burial at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

We will sadly miss our dear friend and neighbor. He has been a good friend for very long time. It has been our pleasure to have known and care for him and his lovely wife. We will always remember the good times we shared together.
I'm saddened to learn that Don passed away. He was such a kind man that loved his family and lived his faith. Rose I pray for you, your children and the rest of the family. May the peace of our Lord comfort you now and in the days ahead.
Mr. Sullivan will be remembered as kind and intelligent, as a genuinely good man. Sending sympathy to Rose and the family and praying the Lord will ease your sorrow in coming weeks and months.

I am saddened by Don's death. He has been a good friend since the day we met as co-workers at the UCA Aviation Technology Program in 1981. He was also my oldest son Matthew's Confirmation sponsor.
