Virginia A. Napier, 89, of Bono, left this life Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Virginia was born October 23, 1932 in Greenfield, Poinsett County, Arkansas to Luther Samuel Ray and Sallie Cole Ray. She married the love of her life, Curtis Napier, Jr., on June 7, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois.
Though she lived for a time in both Chicago, Illinois and Hazard, Kentucky, she lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area. At different times she did factory work and waitress work. The job she loved most was cooking for her good friend at Loretta's Catering. While she was a very good cook, her claim to fame were her desserts and mouth-watering rolls. Her idea of a vacation was anytime she spent with family or friends. However, she made a trip to the Gulf Coast and did take one cruise after her retirement. Any extra time was spent growing flowers and vegetables and tending her gardens.
A longtime member of Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Virginia attended regularly until prevented by failing health.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years; parents; two sisters, Bernice Casteel and Ireda Williamson; brother, Raymond Ray; son, Stephen Napier; daughter, Nyoka Napier; grandson, Darrell Kersey, Jr. and granddaughter, Shelly Jones.
Virgina is survived by daughters, Deborah (Bill) Levins and Francine Hughes; grandson, Charles Kersey; granddaughter, Lisa (David) Hood; great-granddaughter, Madison Hood; her faithful dog "Maggie" and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, Friday, September 16, at 2:00pm with Bro. Byron Griffey officiating. Burial follows at Bolivar Cemetery in Poinsett County.
Visitation precedes the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

Virginia will be dearly missed. She was a caring and loving mother, a faithful daughter, and a true friend. It was a joy to set with her and listen to her reminisce about the good old days. We where truly fortunate to have been a part of her life and I can say without a doubt she contributed to the man I am today.

I will forever miss my Aunt Virginia. I loved visiting her and showing her everyone's pictures from FB. She loved seeing everyone and catching up with their lives. She would tell us stories from her life with my mom and her husband. Her dog Maggie was always standing guard over her to make sure we didn't get too close! 😀 I'll miss our time together. Prayers going up for Debbie and Bill, Francine, and Lisa. She loved you all and was a great woman. It's comforting to know she's back with her kids and husband and mom too. I know they are having a grand reunion.
