I’m Brother Anselm Allen’s sister. Alyce was such a sweet and gentle soul. I know my brother misses their conversations, and I do, too, when I visit at the Abbey. I don’t know you, Cody, but I know your mom spoke of you often…always showing such love and pride. I’m so sorry.

Cody, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom and I were partners during Adoration at the Abby before Covid hit. We would visit every week before we started our Adoration. I had cancer a few years before she did, so we had a lot to talk about. She was so proud of you! You were her whole world. You were truly blessed to have her as a mother. I just saw Brother Joseph’s copy of her bereavement on Facebook. I have been meaning to call her, and now I’ve waited too long. Again, I am so sorry.

Alyce was a wonderful woman of faith, she was quiet in demeanor and kind to others. Alyce was a dedicated fellow employee at Subiaco Abbey Kitchen. Her work was top notch. She often would voluntarily step up to work extra when she could see that we were short handed.... especially on weekends. She courageously and humbly battled health setbacks with faith, patience and grace. Our prayers are with Cody. We will dearly miss Alyce, may she rest in peace.
