Wilford Oral Barnett Jr., 71, of Stuttgart, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Wilford was born February 6, 1951 to the late Wilford "Heavy" Barnett, Sr. and Jean Brewer Barnett in Stuttgart, AR.
He was retired from GTE (later CenturyTel), was a United States Army veteran and of the Baptist faith. Prior to illnesses in recent years, Wilford was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his family in the woods or near the water.
Wilford was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and spent two years in service to our country, primarily in Europe.
He went on to work for GTE and it was during his early years with the company that he met Jan Keeth when he was working in her hometown of England, Ark.
Wilford and Jan got married on March 26, 1976 and settled in Stuttgart.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jan Barnett of the home; his son, Jeffery Barnett of Stuttgart; his daughter, LeAnn Askins and her husband, Chris, of Jonesboro; one granddaughter, who was the pride of his life in recent years, Abby Askins; two sisters, Bonnie (Joseph) Mack of Humphrey and Beverly Adcox of North Little Rock and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Wilford was proceeded in death by a brother, Bobby Barnett and two sisters, Susan Garmon and Laura Sanders.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Roller-England Funeral Home in England, AR with burial to follow at Mulberry Cemetery in England.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Lasting memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church (Stuttgart) Building Fund or the Wounded Warriors Project.

Very sorry to hear this. I will always remember Wilford as a very nice guy. It has been many years since I saw him and Jan, but I always liked him. My late condolences to his Family.

I Loved running into Wilford when he came to England. I would Always run into him at Kroger, and we would talk & catch up until we meet again. There wasn't another Wilford Barnett, His Lovely Wife & Family is in my Prayers.
