Mr. Daniel C. Bye, 88, of Horseshoe Bend, passed away August 18, 2022 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on August 12, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois.
Dan is survived by his five children; Debbie (Bob), Jeff, Gerald, Sue and Kelly (Nina), eleven grandchildren; Robert (Ronnie), Danny (Kim), Steve (Sally), Jenny, Patience (Jason), Curtis, Gabrielle, Chris (Jasmine) and Stephanie, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was married to Barbara for 68 years, she passed in April of 2022. Dan loved to play games and was known as the ''game master'' which included cards, dominoes, Clue and more. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years and served as the Grand Knight. He was a huge sports fan which included his favorite teams from Chicago, the Cubs, the Bears and the Bulls. Dan also participated in sports, playing Fishing, Horseshoes and Golf. He had a hole-in-one at Turkey Mountain Golf Club in 2018. He also coached youth baseball for over 15 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church. Dan and his wife were supporters of the community and parishes and helped in the maintenance of the grounds and kitchens. He was an active participant in activities in Horseshoe Bend for the last 27 years.
