of Conway, AR
October 6, 1936 - August 9, 2022
Buddy Pugh, 85, of Conway went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
He was born October 6, 1936 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to the late Wilbur V and Eva McClure Pugh.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sondra Pugh; daughter, Michelle Maltbia of Conway, (Marcus) and granddaughter MacKenzie; son, Brian Pugh of West Fork, (Rebecca) and granddaughter, Bethany.
Buddy was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. He was loved by many people in the Conway community. Moving to Conway in 1978 from Tulsa, OK. he was a national trainer of automotive diagnostic equipment for FMC Corporation. Later he founded the Arkansas Educational Services group and spent the next 40 years helping teach youth valuable vocational skills and also providing civic organizations, schools, churches and the needy with a variety of tools, furnishings and other equipment that could be repurposed. He truly had a servant's heart and was always looking to help those in need. Buddy was very active in the Conway Noon Optimist Club, devoting his time to the Pee Wee football and Christmas Angel Tree programs and touched many hearts with those outreach efforts. His family and friends will miss his love, friendship and humorous wit.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tech Serve International atwww.techserve.org
Sondra, I am just seeing this obit for your kind, wonderful husband. Richard just happened to mention him this morning, so I googled him and sadly saw he has passed. I also see Michelle and Brian are married and each have a daughter. I’m glad to know you are surrounded by your loving family. I have wonderful memories of y’all as our neighbors in our brief time in Arkansas. 2 of my favorite is how sweet and attentive Michelle was with Kristin. Another is when we were leaving to move back to SC, we thought we had to leave lots of my things there because they wouldn’t fit in the truck. Buddy said, “ Don’t you worry about this Aileen. I’ll get it on that truckâ€. In 10 minutes he had everything on the truck and ready to go.
My prayers yo you, Sondra, and to Michelle and Brian.
