Brett Michael Wilson

of North Little Rock, AR

February 27, 1990 - June 22, 2022

Brett Michael Wilson, 32, left this reality on June 22, 2022. He was also known as Brett Khullar and Brett Slammin. Brett was born in Pine Bluff, AR on 2/27/1990, and later lived in Little Rock, Maumelle, and North Little Rock.

Schools he attended were Pulaski Heights, Children's House Montessori, Crystal Hill, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and North Little Rock High. Natural State Genomics, a Covid testing laboratory, was his last employer. He worked in Specimen Receiving/Accessioning and loved his job, his family and friends, his dog Caesar, and his music.

The enjoyment, creation, and promotion of Slam Death Metal Music was overwhelmingly the focus of his life. His bands were Burning Nursery, Slamphetamine, and B-Slammin, a one-man band where he performed guitar, vocals, and drum machine. Record Labels he worked with are FTA Recordz and Caustic Hymn Productions. His music can also be found on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, REVERBNATION, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

Brett founded Arkansas Death Metal (ARDM) on Facebook, using it to share bands and to promote and book death metal shows. He was well-known for this and for his unique guitar style with pinch harmonics. Brett's love of the genre had no limits and reached worldwide.

Brett had a gentle, sweet soul and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and fans. Survivors include parents Terri and John Henderson of NLR, sister and nephew Stephanie Poposky and Jaxon Ryan of NLR, grandparents Jack and Kay Wilson of Maumelle, uncle, aunt, and niece Jack, Cheryl, and Mila Wilson of Little Rock, and the Poposky Family.

Brett's life and music will be honored on Sunday, July 3 at 2:00 PM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd., NLR, AR 72116.

I remember the day I first met Brett. I was young and I thought he was cute and talented. He took me to a few shows. He had a real passion for Death Metal and would always say to me “Youre acting hardcore, you need to be more brutal or something. Haha. Time went by and I saw him as just a friend and that was it. It's so sad and a terrible loss.

Brett you are the coolest guy I have ever came across, you made me always feel so welcome and cared about. Always had the sickest sense of taste n style. Studious AF stellar guy and outstanding literally just went out of your way to make me and countless other kids feel welcome and loved and made the AR Death Metal scene feel like a family. I first met you maybe 8 years ago at MF or low key arts when slamphetamine came to my home town. I was a wallflower and you were super on the sidelines too, randomly asked me about my music taste, and our acquaintanceship/friendship only blossomed from there. You effin rock forever man thank you for always supporting local bands, freedom of speech, your complete love of music and community and making me feel loved and welcome always! Beautiful soul! Rest in peace and sweet dreams my brother in slam!

Terri, John and Stephanie,

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I had only one opportunity to talk to Brett, and all I could say is how kind and gentle he was. I loved his tattoos, and he was happy to show them to me and explain how he got them.

I liked him, and always saw him as my brother from another mother. I was deeply shocked to learn about the unfortunate incident. I wish I talked to him more, and created more memories.

Brett, you will be missed. You will be in our memories. Rest in peace my brother.
