I am saddened to learn of Rel’s passing. Prayers for the family in your loss. I began working with Rel as a coach when he began working at the IRS. He was very quiet but smart. I always wanted to take him under my wing to protect and encourage. He was the kind of person that could touch your heart. Always respectful and so nice. RIP Rel. Til we meet again.

I got to know Rel while working together on the annual staff. We went to New York City our senior year for an annual staff workshop. It was there that I got to know him a little better as a person and friend. He had a quirky dry sense of humor that really came out on that particular trip..Up until then, I just thought of him as a nice quiet smart guy…I wish others could have seen that side of him! I know I was pleasantly surprised and am happy I got to know him better..

I've worked with Rel for many years. Rel will be sorely missed. He was always willing to assist anyone at work and had amazing patience. My favorite story is we had a continuing education class in Dallas for the entire Gulf States Region. In those days there was no video chat. Lots of people had received software assitance from Rel but they didn't know what he looked like. I happened to introduce him to someone and the word got around fast! OH this is Rel and everyone wanted to meet him and thank him for all his help her had provided. He was famous! That's Rel to me.

Rel was a true friend. He was truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. Always willing to help with work related questions. Always had time others. He always laughed when he talked. I enjoyed talking with him about old tv shows and reruns on the "TVLand" network and places to eat. He will be missed by everyone he has worked with at the IRS.
