Billie Ruth Larson

of Mountain Home, AR

February 7, 1941 - June 22, 2022

Billie Ruth Larson, 81, died peacefully in the arms of her husband on June 22, 2022 at their home (her childhood home) in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Billie was born on February 7, 1941 in Elizabeth, Arkansas to Stella & Floyd Deatherage. She graduated from Mountain Home High School and continued her education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas Tech University. Billie then worked and retired from the Mountain Home School District, where she taught 4th grade for 31 years. After retiring, Billie and her husband traveled extensively to many places, but her heart was always in Arkansas. In 2020, Billie was inducted into the Mountain Home Education Foundation Hall of Honor.
Billie is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Larson; one sister, Chloetta Abromovitz and one brother, Howard Deatherage. She had numerous nieces and nephews that she referred to as ''her kids.''
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Billie had a passion for traveling, fishing, coin hunting and simple bird watching from her back porch; her favorites were Bluebirds and Purple Martins. She loved EVERYTHING Arkansas.
Billie touched many lives with her generosity and passion for teaching. She will be missed greatly by all.

Sad to hear about Billie's passing. A fine lady, great teacher, coworker and friend. She taught two of my children and they loved her. Can't be at service but will remember family during this time.

David, I extend my sympathies to you. You and Billie Ruth were classmates during our junior high and high school years and we were members of the MHHS class of 1959. Then I was at Tech with Billie Ruth for a few years. Again, you have my sympathy and you are in my prayers.
