Loyd S. Estes, Sr., 88, of Corinth, MS passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. He was born July 23, 1933 in Booneville, MS to Lura E. Estes Sr. and Omie Vines Estes. Loyd was a welder working in steel fabrication until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater, MS and served in the US Army. Loyd enjoyed fishing and doing carpentry work.
Loyd was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda Joyce Estes.
Survivors include his sons, Sammy Estes (Teresa) of Hernando, MS and Wayne Estes (Pat) of Horn Lake, MS; daughter, Barbara Mundt (Greg) of Corinth, MS; six grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Sandra Trevean (Phil) of Southaven, MS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM June 23, 2022 at McMillin Funeral Home in Booneville, MS with Tim Smith and Mike Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery in Ramer, TN.
Visitation will precede the service from 11am-1pm at the McMillin Funeral Home.

I am so sad I couldn’t be off work to be there with family for the service. Uncle Loyd spoiled me rotten when I was little and has always continued to remind me that I pretty much belonged to him and Aunt Joyce and how much they loved me. I will miss him so much and still miss Aunt Joyce. I bet she is so happy having him in Heaven with her now. Love you Uncle Loyd and family â¤ï¸

The Gentle Giant…that’s who my Uncle Loyd was to me. Gentle, soft-spoken, loving, kind and godly. So many of my most treasured childhood memories of of times spent with him and Aunt Joyce. I know they are together again in Heaven rejoicing with the Lord.
