Sandra was filled with love, joy, peace, and charisma. She just drew people to her. Of course, she was a fantastic teacher. I loved her as a friend and colleague at GJHS. She also coached our teacher’s children in T-ball. She coached them so she knew her own children as well as our children would be coached with love and lessons. As many of the other teachers with whom Sandra worked, I am saddened to hear the news of her passing and share many memories of her. When she and Jimmy married, so many of us pitched in to give them the wedding of her dreams. I took their wedding pictures using a camera that belonged to the GHS Annual Staff. The church was filled with friends, family, and so many of their junior high students, who giggled when it came time for Jimmy to kiss his bride.

This just makes me feel my own mortality. Coach, I'll always remember coming back to Gosnell after my grandma died. I just showed up at football practice one day and Sandra insisted I come to the house and eat steaks with you guys. I was one of the many lives you guys touched. When I graduated from Gosnell I left and never looked back, but I never had anything but love and admiration for both of you. I remember acting a fool in 8th grade science class and somehow she always had patience with me and she was always a cool teacher. As a former student, saying she was a cool teacher is probably the best compliment I can give. Coach, you and your family will be in my thoughts. I can't imagine what you're going through.
