Henry "Cobb" Wess Gipson, 80, of Smithville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
He was born March 4, 1942 in Sitka, Arkansas to Jess Gipson and Cleophus Robinson Gipson.
Henry was a lifetime member of Pleasant Ridge Community Church where he served as a superintendent. He was very caring person and a devoted husband. Henry was a farmer raising produce, loved the outdoors, went barefooted everywhere and loved traveling and chaperoning. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a great story teller.
Survivors include his two sisters, Helen Gipson of Salem and Tennie Purser of Senatobia, Mississippi; his cousins, Phil and Betty Combs, Desi Smith and Diane Bristow; two nieces; numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carolyn Sue Gipson and sister, Amalou Mason.
Pallbearers are Danny Myrick, Andrew Myrick, Howard Gipson, Wess "Rooster" Gipson, Dr. Ronnie Smith and Rodney Bristow. Honorary pallbearers will be Verton Miller, Timmy Myrick, Tommy Pagan, Jackie Pickett, Billy Joe Gann and Phil Combs.
Funeral services will being at 10:00 am Friday, May 27, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Community Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville, with Jim Pagan officiating. Burial will follow at Parsley Cemetery in Smithville.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am Friday just prior to service at the church.

I will miss Henry Wess. At least he and his wife are together again. I saw Henry just last month when he came over with my aunt Betty and uncle Phil to see me. He was my late Grandmother Dora Gipson Stoder 's nephew.
Wow where do I begin..I have known you every since I can even remember you would always come.visit us and you never had shoes and would always have gum or some kind of candy you would share with us.. I remember our trip together to little Rock. You were a sweet man rest in peace Henry cobb
You will be missed Cobb, but I will always remember our rides in the truck,4 wheeler, and all the fun times we shared together â¤ï¸ I will see you again cousin Cobb. Love rooster
