Jeanette Jones Clarke, age 92, of Elkins, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Mrs. Clarke was born on August 21, 1929 in Ratio, Arkansas to the late Charles Jones and Pearl Snyder Jones. She married Ben O. Clarke on June 26, 1953 in Greenwood, Mississippi. They were married for 45 years. Jeanette worked for 20 years at the local Phillip's County Health Department as a public health nurse. She retired after 71 years as a Registered Nurse. She first retired from Dr. Reddy's office in Helena, Arkansas and then retired from Crestpark Nursing Home of Helena. She was also a member of Elkin Community Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Ben Clarke of Elkins, Arkansas and David Clarke (Janice) of Searcy, Arkansas; a daughter, Roxanne Smithson (Ed) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kylie Scanlon (Drew) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Clarke Smithson (Katie) of Greenville, South Carolina, Rachel Schlesselman (Jon) of Helena, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Kayden Clarke of Helena, Arkansas, Hallie Jean Scanlon of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Millie May Smithson of South Carolina and Eli and Kase Johnson of Searcy, Arkansas and one sister, Inez Burke of Elaine, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Betty Moneymaker and Desaree Toney; three brothers, Rudolph Jones, David Jones and Jimmy Jones.

A graveside service for Jeanette Jones Clarke will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena, Arkansas at a later date.

Roxanne, Ben and David, so sorry for your loss. Your mom was always a bright and shining star. She was the nurse for Liberty and Summit streets and and often on call for one of us. I have missed her in the last few years since she and Ben moved away. Prayers for all of you.
