Edgar Eugene Hunter III

of Horseshoe Lake, AR

January 1, 1960 - May 20, 2022

Edgar (Eddie) Eugene Hunter III, beloved father, companion, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on May 20, 2022 at his home in Horseshoe, AR.

Eddie was born on January 1, 1960 in Covington, TN to Mary Ann and Junior Hunter as the first newborn of the new year in Tipton County. He graduated from Munford High School in 1978. After graduation he carried on the family tradition of farming and trucking. Later in his career he used his natural teaching talents to teach trucking skills and help students receive their CDLs. For the past two years he retired from the industry and returned to his roots of farming by starting his own ''Tiny Farm'' of fruits and vegetables and sharing this passion and skills with his friends and grandchildren.

In addition to working on his ''Tiny Farm'', Eddie was a devoted grandfather and prided himself in being his daughter's extra set of hands and wheels. He could often be found running his grandchildren from activity to activity, watching band performances or giving driving lessons. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time with his mother and enjoying her beautiful gardens.

Eddie also had a passion for music. He loved any opportunity he had to spend with his musically talented friends and cherished their fellowship.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Hunter; his companion and best friend, Rebecca Peden; his daughter, Amanda (Dan) Samples; his granddaughters, Maylee, Emma and Becca Samples; his grandson, Jack Samples; his sister, Alicia Hunter; his nieces, Stacey (Andy) Smith and Valerie Hopkins; his great nieces, Jazlynn Ward, Kinsley Smith and his great nephews, Hunter Kelley and Jaxson Ward.

In lieu of flowers, Eddie's family requests that donations be made in his honor to a philanthropy of your choice.

I am very blessed and a better person for having known Eddie and his family and having them in my life for more than 25 years. He was my son, Wyatt Long's Godfather. What a welcoming party is going on in heaven as God has received a true friend, angel and loving man into his kingdom. You and Wyatt make sure you continue guiding and loving us till we see you again. To say "You will be miss", is a monumental understatement. With love and prayers.
