Rose M Hudgens

of Little Rock, AR

December 22, 1926 - April 30, 2022

Rose Metrailer Hudgens, 95, of Little Rock, died on April 30, 2022. She was born December 22, 1926, in Little Rock, to the late Anthony and Henrietta Metrailer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gerald Vaugine Hudgens, Sr. and her ten older siblings. She was the last surviving member of her generation in the Metrailer family. She is survived by her eight children, Diane Logan (Dave Cartier), Gerald, Jr. (Gwen), Susan Massey, Helen Billingsley (John), Robert Hudgens (Cathy), Stephen Hudgens (Tonya), Alice Cooner (Les) and Janie Hudgens. Also preceding her in death were her sons-in-law, Tom Logan and Charles Massey. She is also survived by her 15 precious grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Through her strong faith and steady presence, she offered unconditional love to her large family and had a gift for knowing just when to offer thoughtful support or gentle guidance. She was a woman of grace with an infectious smile and a style that always kept up with the times. She had an amazing ability to make everyone in her presence feel special and her encouragement to be happy will live on with her family.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the chapel of Roller-Chenal, with a Rosary staring at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Wednesday, May 4th, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road.

Memorials may be made in Rose's name to Mt. St. Mary Academy, where she was a 1944 graduate, Little Rock Carmelite Nuns or Catholic High School.

Steve, Robert, Alice and The Hudgens Family: Your mother was a devout Catholic Lady who loved our Country, our Catholic Faith and her Family. Your parents were the perfect Catholic couple. They were always so nice and kind to me. i admired them greatly. They raised a wonderful family. I will never forget the detailed notebook that Mr. Hudgens maintained concerning his courtship of Mrs. Hudgens. It was very beautiful and moving ! They constantly exhibited their love for each other and their family including their many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren. May Rose Rest in the Peace of Christ with her beloved husband Gerald and all of our Loved Ones who have passed away to Heaven.
