Iola Mae Marberry

of Flippin, AR

July 7, 1924 - April 23, 2022

Our mother, Iola Marberry age 97 years, 9 months, and 16 days, of Flippin, Arkansas got the desire of her heart on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 am. She got to meet Jesus face to face! All her expectations and wonder of what heaven is like are now a reality to her.

On July 7, 1924, Iola was born to Theodore Hurst and Annie (Klopfenstein) Hurst. She married Blaine Marberry on October 19, 1940. She and Blaine had several businesses in Flippin: a dry goods store, a feed store, a grocery store, and then a grocery store and gas station. When they sold their business she went to work at MarBax shirt factory then several years at Baxter Travenol in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She lived in her home until she was 97 years old.

She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, and was a song leader, leading the young children in children's songs in church before the adults sang. She loved the little ones getting in front of the church and singing with motions.

Iola is survived by three sons: Harold (Teresia) Marberry of Gassville, Arkansas; Jerald (Brenda) Marberry, Ken (Debbie) Marberry all of Flippin, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her husband, Blaine, to whom she was married for 60 years. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, one brother, and one grandson, and many other family members.

If she could have one last prayer for her family and friends it would be: don't let your last day on this earth be without knowing Jesus. All her years here on earth were to see one more soul won for Christ. In this she fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith. Now she has received her crown of righteousness to cast at Jesus's feet. Jesus came and carried her home and we will meet her on the other side.

Funeral service for Mrs. Marberry will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Lighthouse Assembly in Flippin with Timothy Bryant and Roger Rogers officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Flippin Cemetery, c/o Greg Hopper; P.O. Box 211, Flippin, AR 72687. Please make checks to Flippin Cemetery Fund.

Jerald, I'm so sorry for your loss. She was always a very kind, gentle and sweet Lady. True to her God and true to her word and world. I've always had the utmost respect for both her and Blaine. They were always nothing but good to me...
