Bettie was born on, July 2, 1929, to Mr. Charles Edward Hurley and Mrs. Zella Mae Jarrett Hurley in Jefferson City, Missouri. She spent her life caring for others and as an elderly caregiver, and was a member of West Frasier Baptist Church for well over 60 years where she sang in the choir. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Higginbotham, Kathryn Martin (Jack), and Terri Bostic; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 Great Great-Grandchild. Preceding her in death were her parents, one son Billy Charles Roberts, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Although “Auntie Bettie†was not a blood relative that’s what she was to all us kids in the community. I have many wonderful memories of growing up with Terri, Billy, Kathryn and Linda, and all the other kids on Aden and surrounding streets. Bettie always had a compassionate nature, infectious smile and a laugh that always made everyone feel better. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you lay your mom to rest. God bless you all.
So sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a lovely lady with an infectious laugh. I love you all dearly. With much love, Steve Hurley...â¤
