I served in the Army.

Roy Delton JohnsonI am a Veteran.

of Shirley, AR

May 26, 1947 - April 14, 2022

Roy Delton Johnson, 74, of Shirley, Arkansas passed from this life on April 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Lake Village, Arkansas to the late Roy Wilton Johnson and Annie Christine Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Joan (Meredith) Johnson, and brothers; Ron and David Johnson.

Roy served two enlistments in the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany. Roy returned home to Austin, Texas and the love of his life, Joan found him. They spent 49 years together and of the union had two children, Rebecca and Roy Paul. His family respected, admired and appreciated him. Roy would give you good sound advice and he shared his love for the Lord with his family. He had a great love for his family and them for him. If you were privileged to get to know Roy you would always be a part of the family. Until his illness you would find him sitting outside enjoying the great outdoors, watching the grands play and his family working in the flower gardens. You could say; Papaw was definitely the smartest crayon in the box.

He will forever be in our hearts and we know he is now reunited with his love, our Oma.

Left to cherish Roy's memory are his siblings; Linda Calhoun, Troy, Chris and, Mark Johnson, Sue Castalaw, Laverne Stimits, Vickie Flowers, children; Roy Paul Johnson, Rebecca Hall, grandchildren; Haley McCulley, Barrett and Brandon Hall, Ayrien Lovell, Ivree, Bryar, and Feona Johnson, great-grandchildren; Arabella, Haizley, Kaleb, Noah, Azaylia and Royal, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation services are from 1:00pm-2:00pm Monday, April 18, 2022 with funeral services following at 2:00pm at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. Interment will be at the Crowell Mountain Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas.

To Roy's family,

Each and every one of you are in our prayers. He was truly a special man in every one of your lives and touched so many that were not blood related. I am proud to say I knew him and even prouder that we share a granddaughter. Love, hugs and prayers.

Mike, Lisa, and boys
