JD Garner, 90, of Pleasant Plains passed away April 6, 2022.
He was born December 14, 1931 in Pleasant Plains to William Francis and Lucy (Hill) Garner.
JD worked as a heavy equipment and auto mechanic. He was a loving man who liked bartering, trading, and telling jokes. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Garner of Pleasant Plains; one sister, June Whiteside of DeValls Bluff; four grandchildren, Jerad Dugger, Cody Garner, Dusty Garner, and Ty Garner; one great-grandchild, Hattie Dugger, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Faye Garner; three sons, John Garner, Danny Seaman, and David Seaman; three sisters, Mavis Smith, Bonnie Harris, and Luann Garner; and three brothers, Carl Garner, Bill Garner, and Bob Garner.
Pallbearers are Jesse James Broyles, Jimmy Whiteside, Dusty Garner, JD Sample, Jerad Dugger and Chad Bechdoldt. Honorary pallbearers are Ty Garner and Eddie Garner.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Terry Whiteside and Glen Harris officiating. Burial will follow at McMullin Cemetery in Pleasant Plains.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Sorry for your loss. I always remember JD being a friendly guy. Prayers for comfort and strength.
J. D.’s Family I’m so sorry for your loss. I used to wait on him at the Bank. I always loved to hear his joyful voice when he called. He always had a joke to tell him. I will miss him . He was a great man.
