Jimmy Reed Koonce, 85, of Mayflower passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on December 17, 1936 in Armorel, Arkansas. Jimmy was the son of the late Robert M. Koonce and Alma N. McCoy Koonce.
Jimmy was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved our Lord and Savior. Jimmy loved fishing, traveling, gardening, selling produce, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
He was known as "Pops" at work. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1997.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Samual Koonce, Reginald Eugene Koonce, and Mack Rayford Koonce.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Dennis Koonce (Belinda) of Horn Lake, MS, Terry Greenlee of Mountain Home, Marc Koonce (Cindy) of Pine Bluff, Jeff Koonce of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Brad Koonce of Mayflower, and Bryan Koonce (Stephanie) of Redfield; one sister Alma Dean Koonce Rogers of Jackson, TN; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 1:00pm with services following at 2:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
I am so very sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was a very good friend of mine and I loved him dearly. He was also a wonderful dance partner. I am broken hearted and will miss him dearly.k
My prayers are for the family. Mr. Jimmy was always a pleasure to see. He will be missed.
Jimmy was a good all around guy. We will miss him and we will pray for comfort for his loved ones.

Jimmy was a caring person. He operated a produce stand, and he would always give me one extra of whatever I had purchased. I enjoyed his willingness to please.
We will miss seeing him at the Conway Senior Center.
I love you so much, Grandaddy. Your great-grandbabies and I will miss our Cracker Barrel trips.
