I served in the Marine.

Thomas Harold SmithI am a Veteran.

of Searcy, AR

November 8, 1928 - March 30, 2022

Thomas Harold Smith, 93, of Searcy went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, March 30, 2022. He was born on November 8, 1928 in Sidon, AR to Escar and Martha Smith. Harold was a beloved son, brother, husband, Daddy and Pa.
From a young age, he was always involved in fixing and building things, from tractors to cars, to machines of all kinds. As a veteran of the Korean War, Harold served in the United States Marine Corp as a sniper and field mechanic. Following his time in the service, Harold returned to the Searcy area. He spent the majority of his professional career as the plant manager for the International Shoe Company and Prince Gardner. Harold enjoyed construction work as well and held a lifetime master electrician and master plumber's license. He built several houses in the community and for his family. After he retired from Prince Gardner, he opened a small engine repair shop. He loved to spend his time working in the shop and in his garden from morning until evening. Harold enjoyed entertaining others by telling stories of his life experiences and was well known for his practical jokes. He loved the Lord and was a member of Searcy First Assembly of God.
Harold is now reunited in Heaven with his wife of 69 years, Viven Smith, as well as his parents and a host of other family members and friends. He is survived by his sister, Charlene Stauber, daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Freddy Lawson, grandchildren, Justin (Katie) Lawson, Shelley (Mat) Faulkner, great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Grant, and Abby Lawson, Easton, Lawson, and Jace Faulkner.
Visitation will be held at Roller Daniel Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31st from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services on Friday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Searcy First Assembly of God.

Uncle Harold, we didn’t get to spend much time with you as adults, only the occasional visit, but those times and the times I remember as a kid, we’re always very special to me. You’re a very special man. You will be missed and never forgotten.
