Conda Elaine May Platt, 74, of Salado passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022.
She was born July 3, 1947 in Salado, Arkansas to Buford May and Clora Crowell May.
Conda was a member of Southside Church of Christ. She was a very strong willed, independent, and loving woman. In her early years Conda worked for Pepsi; was the owner/operator of the grocery store in Salado; and she also owned the Uniform Shop for 10 years. She loved to go antiquing, traveling and making trips to Tunica; she also loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed reading books especially of the romance and suspense variety. She also had a green thumb and loved gardening and used straw bales to raise her vegetables.
Survivors include her daughter, Lana Hightower (Mark) of Union Hill; three grandchildren, Ben Hightower (Brittney), Joey Hightower (Lauren), and Natasha Hightower; five great-grandchildren, Cooper Hightower, Quinn Hightower, Beckham Hightower, Eleanor Hightower, and Henry Hightower.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Platt; son, Michael Lynn Younger; and brothers, Lynn May and George May.
Pallbearers are Joey Hightower, Tony May, Eddie Brock, Ralph Platt, Thomas Bristow, and R.J. Bristow. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Long, Troy ''Butch'' Platt, Anthony ''Tony'' Platt, Dr. Jordan Weaver, Dr. Timothy Baty, Dr. Matias Ballesteros, Jerry Shaw, Brent Powell and the staff of Legacy Hospice.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Ben Hightower and Joey Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery in Salado.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 pm Saturday just prior to service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Arkansas Sherriff Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 3964, Batesville, AR 72503 or Children's Home, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
