of West Memphis, AR
July 12, 1935 - March 6, 2022
C.W. Hinton, 86, joined our Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was the proud, loving, and spoiled husband of Betty Hinton. They shared 68 years of marriage together.
Born in Caraway, Arkansas, he was the son of Aaron and Pearl Hinton. He attended Caraway High School and worked as a driver for Exxon and Time Freight Co. until his retirement in 1984. His time in retirement was spent traveling with his wife across the country as active members of the Good Sams Camping Club and supporting Special Olympics events. Most mornings he could be found with his coffee buddies doing crossword puzzles and solving the world's troubles. C.W. Hinton was a faithful Christian man, worshiping at the Missouri Street church of Christ. He loved to fellowship and encourage everyone he met. He had a heart for sharing God's Word, and mission work was a major part of his life's purpose. Alongside his wife, he spent countless summers in New Mexico building and supporting Crownpoint church of Christ. He will be remembered for his encouraging spirit, his kindness, his hugs, his unique humor, and his devotion to God and his family.
He is survived by his spouse, Betty; children, Glenda Hicks and Sue Lane (Allan); his grandchildren, Dwayne Hicks (Andrea), Marcia Lane, and Jennifer Clothier (Tye); his great grandchildren, Cameron Hicks, Austin Clothier, and Makayla Clothier; his brother-in-love Orlan Abernathy (Molly); and numerous nieces and nephews who considered him their father-figure and confidant. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Roy, Claudene, N.J., and Reuben, and his son-in-law, Arnold Hicks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Missouri Street Church of Christ Mission Fund, West Memphis Christian School, or Crowley's Ridge Academy in Paragould.
