Bruce Ray Moyer

of Maumelle, AR

February 18, 1944 - February 27, 2022

As Bruce Ray Moyer, 77, of Maumelle, Arkansas entered Heaven on February 28, 2022 surely he heard his Father say, ''Well done my good and faithful servant''¦Come and share in your master's happiness!'' Bruce was born on February 18, 1944 to Bruce Ray Moyer, Sr. and Marie (Staton) Moyer in Little Rock. He was raised in Pine Bluff until the age of eight before the family moved to Levy (North Little Rock). Bruce graduated from North Little Rock Senior High school (class of 1962), before attending Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College and Little Rock University. He obtained his pharmacy degree from Northeast University in Louisiana.

Bruce began working in the field of pharmacy for Bob Lyon at Lyon's Pharmacy as a teenager. He worked in Batesville and then at the Super X store in Indian Hills. After establishing himself professionally, Bruce opened Oak Grove Pharmacy in 1978. Later Bruce and Mr. Lyon opened a pharmacy in Maumelle. Bruce provided excellent healthcare to Oak Grove and the surrounding communities because of his compassion and kindness. He will long be remembered for his gift of caring for both the physical and emotional health of his patients.

Bruce was a man of many talents, hobbies, and pursuits. He enjoyed traveling, camping and boating, gardening (especially planting daffodils), looking for bargains in the want ads, going to the flea market, buying antiques, keeping things in working order, grilling burgers and chicken, and riding on his tractor. He was a natural teacher who could patiently instruct or impart wisdom on anyone around. Bruce was constantly hungry for knowledge and would ''pick your brains'' for information.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vickie; sons Bruce Moyer of Romance and Whit Griffith of North Little Rock; daughters, Lindy (Jason) Vint of Maumelle and Rebekah Hudgins of Clinton, MS; grandchildren, Vickie Joan Parks, Neela Vint, Ethan Griffith, Georgia Vint, Benjamin Parks, and Lane Hudgins; and his dog Bear. Additionally, he is survived by his extended family, friends, customers, patients, and former employees who will carry on Bruce's memory.

Bruce leaves a legacy of love, faithfulness, and joy. As his daughter Rebekah wrote to him once, thank you for being my friend and father.

Visitation will be at 1:00 Saturday, March 5th at Cedar Height Baptist Church, North Little Rock. The memorial service will follow at 2:30.

The family would like to thank the caring staffs of Elmcroft and Little Rock Memory Care for the outstanding care they provided Bruce in his last years on earth.

Memorials in Bruce's memory should be made to Cedar Height Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 14510 Cedar Heights Road, North Little Rock, AR 72118.

My Poppy was a beautifully kind man. Ever so thoughtful and gentle. His comfort came second to everyone else's. I never doubted his love and was at peace when I was with him.
