Robert Gene Stokes, age 95, passed away February 1, 2022.

He was born May 22, 1926, in Smithville, Arkansas, to Elson and Mollie Stokes. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Elson "George" Stokes, Jr., sister Frances Norman, and by son James Stokes.

Mr. Stokes started working for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired with Union Pacific Railroad after 36 years. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock for more than 50 years.

Mr. Stokes enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and RVing. He loved playing football, basketball, and baseball in high school and in the Army.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Jean Stokes; daughter Carole Satterfield and husband Mark of Springdale; and one sister, Ida Mae Gray of Jonesboro.

Arrangements by Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be Friday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cabot.
