Bernice Grist, 95, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Charleston, Arkansas. She was born on October 12, 1926 in Paris to her parents, Frank and Theodora (Elsken) Furstenberg.
Bernice was a retired Certified Nurses Aid and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Mother's Society. She loved playing cards and hanging out with her friends at the Paris Senior Center.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bill Grist; two dauthers, Colleen White and Linnene Reed; six sisters, Anna Marie Konert, Betty Tucker, Josephine Enzenberger, Juanita Scarpetta, Ethelreda Burnett Hughes and Dorothy Favenyes and three brothers, Adrian, Leo and Tommy Furstenberg.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Jason Chronister of Fort Smith and Cassie White of Ohio; one sister, Mary Ellen Furstenberg and partner Carol of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to inclement weather the family has postponed the services for one week. A memorial rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris officiated by Fr. Reginald Udouj, O.S.B.. Burial of cremated remains will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Bernice was a very nice lady to everyone. I had the privilege of knowing her as a caring loving home health care person to a relative. later i enjoyed her friendship at the Senior Citizens Center. She will certaily be an addition to Gods angels.
