Veaner Beach Brewer

of Batesville, AR

November 26, 1926 - January 23, 2022

Veaner (Beach) Brewer, 95, of Onia, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville, Arkansas. Veaner was born on November 26, 1926 on Roasting Ear Creek to the late Grover and Bessie (Stevens) Beach.

Veaner was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in the Roasting Ear Creek community. She was saved at home as a young woman and she was very committed to serving God and her church as long as her health permitted. Veaner served her Onia community as Postmaster for 30 years and also had the rural grocery store for most of those years. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Veaner was a very artistic and talented lady. She loved sewing and quilting and could make anything out of fabric. She sewed clothes for her family and others who were in need, without patterns to go by for many years.

She painted several beautiful oil canvas paintings for her family and made pretty porcelain dolls and sewed all their clothes. One of her greatest loves was music. She led singing a lot at church and she was a member of the Bluegrass Specials (band) for a number of years, playing upright bass and singing tenor and lead.

Veaner is survived by her children, Geraldene Sutton and husband Odes, Betty Wilroy, Harold Brewer and wife Brenda, and Janice Brewer and husband Jerry; four siblings, Allie Gammill, Gennive Farris, Buster Beach and wife Lorna, and Arthur Beach and wife Betty; five grandchildren, Phil Sutton and wife Jannie, Tammy Green and husband Josh, Drs. Stacy and Victor Armstrong, Michael Brewer and wife Holly, and Dr. Brooklyn Taylor and husband Jason; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and special friend Nikki Gillihan along with many extended loving family and friends.

Veaner was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Bessie (Stevens) Beach; her husband of 69 years Loyd Brewer; two brothers, Euel Beach and Robert Beach, and two sisters, Velma Garman and Zola Smith.

Visitation for Veaner is Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 12:00-1:00 PM at White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 PM with Brother Gary Don Fletcher and Brother Phil Sutton officiating. Interment is at Pordue Cemetery in Onia, Arkansas following the service where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Pallbearers are Michael Brewer, Aaron Sutton, Keaton Sutton, Seth Green, Josh Green and Jason Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Odes Sutton, Jerry Brewer, Dr. Victor Armstrong, Donnie Armstrong, Don Jolley, Rick Beach, Terry Gammill, Tim Gammill, Joey Brewer, Donald Martin, and Brian Eskridge.

Although masks are not required the family would appreciate and encourage everyone attending to wear one and practice all safety protocols recommended by the CDC in the protection of COVID-19.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry to hear this. I always thought a lot of her and Loyd. She was a good Christian woman. Prayers for all the family. I remember when I went to work at the shirt factory I was told I needed to establish a credit record so they let me buy gas on the credit. I'm sure they did that for a lot of people.
