Norma Harkness, age 81, of Harrison, Arkansas passed from this life, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born December 23, 1940, at Eula, Arkansas to Boyd and Sibyl (Christian) Drewry.

She attended school at Witts Springs, Arkansas where she was an avid basketball player and was voted Most Athletic Female in 1958. As long as she was able, she was very involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Country Club Organizations. She had a love for music and enjoyed singing and playing guitar. She loved taking care of her plants and had a large collection of photos of family and friends that she treasured dearly. She loved family gatherings where she could laugh and joke with her siblings. Out of all the hats she wore, being ''The Boss'' was her favorite. She had an abundance of friends and she never met a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay McCallum, son, Charles Harmon, parents, Boyd and Sibyl Drewry, brothers, Charlie Drewry, and Bennie Drewry, sister, Mary Reynolds, nephew, Richie Drewry.

She is survived by daughters, Raylene Thompson and husband Norm of Cherry Log Georgia and Renea Saunier and Husband Danny of Harrison, Arkansas, step-daughter, Joyce (Mike) Stokes of Russellville, Arkansas, step-son, Kelly McCallum of Atkins, Arkansas, grandchildren, Heath Sanders, Contessa Irvin, Josh (Shauna) Saunier, Haley McCoy, Blake (Caroline) Saunier, Briley Saunier, great-grandchildren, Kaydence McCoy, Serenity Grace Saunier, Brayden Saunier, Mason Phegley, Cole Phegley, Aria Saunier, sisters and brothers, Millie (Millis) Jones, Rose McCracken, Rickey Bill (Marge) Drewry, Lena (Royce) Jones, Dennis (Shirley) Drewry, (brother-in-law, Bob Reynolds, and sister-in-law, Linda Drewry), and numerous nieces, nephews and adopted caregivers.


Memorial service was held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Witts Springs Community Church, Witts Springs, Arkansas.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. Wish I had off new. I always went and seen her when went to Arkansas. I don’t make it as much as use to. I’m on chemo. I loved her very much. She will be missed. I still called her mom.
