Jacqulin Ann Dicus

of Little Rock, AR

March 1, 1949 - January 11, 2022

Jacqulin (''Jackie'') Ann Dicus, age 72, of Little Rock, AR transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Jackie was born on March 1, 1949 to the late Herschel Forrest Jackson and Mary Anna Allman Jackson. She is survived by her children Tony Allman Dicus and Ashley Renee' Dicus. Sisters, Janet Gail Winkler (Francis), Brenda Joy Swindell (Raymond) and nephews Matthew Stephen Winkler and James Raymond Swindell.

Jackie graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1967. She completed 2 years of business school before starting her career in 1970. Her career began with the Arkansas State Bank Department. She was hired by Commissioner Harvey Adams, as a secretary. During Jackie's twenty-eight years with the Bank Department, she served under five different Banking Commissioners. She retired in March 1998 as the Director of Administrative Services. Jackie was also a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church, where she loved worshiping with her church family.

Jackie's most fulfilling role started in 1976, when Tony was born, and then soon following, the birth of Ashley in 1981. Jackie was a solid and supportive foundation in her children's lives. She loved being a mother. Jackie wanted her children to know they were always supported, loved and cherished. As a mom, she enjoyed volunteering at school events, driving them to summer camp, and never missed watching their ice-skating practices or competitions. She felt sports would give her children life skills. Hard work, practice and determination is something you can carry with you forever. She also ensured that her children had an educational foundation, but reserved time for fun with friends as well.

In addition to being a great mom, Jackie was a great aunt. She had two lively nephews that kept her on her toes. Always spoiling them and doing all the things aunts are supposed to do. Whether it be giving them their first taco or teaching them the phrase ''God Bless America'', Jackie was there for anything they needed.

In her spare time, she enjoyed various hobbies. Traveling to the beach or the lake in Hot Springs. If there was sand, sun and water she was happy. Jackie showed her family and friends love by cooking and baking. Big meals for the family, cookies, cakes, or her infamous ''Red Jell-O''. She enrolled in Wilton's cake decorating course and surprised her family and friends with her beautifully decorated works of art. Jackie was just a master in the kitchen. Of all the hobbies that Jackie had, the most favorite one would have to be reading any biography that she could get her hands on. The number of biographies that were read over her lifetime may never be known; however, she could read through them faster than a newspaper on a Sunday morning.

Through the later part of her life, Jackie dealt with chronic illness. There were many ups and downs, successes and setbacks during this time. No matter the battle that was being faced, Jackie handled them all with strength, grace and the support of her faith and family. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13 ''I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me''

My sweet Ashley, I’m just learning of your Mother’s passing. My heart is broken, as I know yours is. She loved you so very much, and I personally know everything you did for her. You fought for your sweet Mother on a daily. I have never witnessed a daughter love and fight so much for her Mother’s care. We all should hope and pray we have children like yourself. You saw that she had everything she needed. I have since learned you were by her side for days until the very end. That made my heart light up. I know she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I hope you always have the peace in your heart of the best life you could of given your Mother. My prayers are with you always. I will forever miss Jackie. God Bless.

Tony, Sadie, and Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you all in this great loss you all are going through. Tony, I didn't get the chance to meet your mom but from what I've heard reading these comments I know she was a lovely lady. She raised an amazing son and I am sure she is SO proud of you and all your accomplishments. I know she is thankful all the times you visited her and attended church service with her at her nursing home. I am positive she cherishes the moments and memories of you two going to movies and going out to eat spending quality time together and face timing when Covid started. I am also sure you will cherish all these memories and moments you had with your mom too. Your mom is looking over you and your family and is happy the happiest she has ever been in heaven not in pain anymore. She is in God's home and she is also home.

Love always, your second family in North Dakota

Ashley, I’m so very sorry of your Mother’s passing. She was a wonderful woman and was loved and admired by many. You were an excellent daughter that took the best care of your Mother. I’ve never seen anyone fight for and make sure your Mother had the best care possible, like you did. She was one of the strongest women I have ever known. I know she is at peace now and with our heavenly Father. I will pray for you and your family during these hard times for healing and comfort. I’m here for you always.

Grieving the loss of a truly incredible person. Jackie was the kind of person that was fun to be around. She had a great sense of humor and she was also kind. She would always go out of her way to help others and fiercely advocated for those she loved. She was a hard worker and she did everything to make sure her children would succeed. She was incredibly proud of both of her children’s accomplishments. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know Jackie. She will be deeply missed.

Ashley I’m so sorry for the loss of your wonderful mother. I didn’t get to spend much time with her but to know you was to know how wonderful your mother was as a person. I got to witness the amazing care you gave your mother. Your endless phone calls to her to make sure she was feeling ok and taken care of. You battled for her more than any person I’ve ever know taking care of another person. The love y’all have for one another was priceless. Her health was taken from her at such an early age and you stepped in and did everything you could. We should all be so lucky to have a child like yourself. I hope you find some healing in the best way possible and remember only the wonderful things you and your mother had together and cherish them always. Jackie was such a wonderful human and God gained a beautiful angel. Peace be with you and your family in this hard time. Much love to you all

Ashley, I’m so sorry for the pain you’re feeling deep inside with your mom’s passing. I won’t forget listening to her recall fond memories of you growing up. I could tell how much she loved you and how proud she was to call you her daughter. And I know you loved her just as much in return - calling daily to check on her and fighting to give her the best care. I hope you can take comfort in knowing you were by her side until the very end doing everything you could to respect her wishes. Rest In Peace, sweet Jackie. You fought one heck of a battle and have inspired me in more ways than one to always keep going no matter what life throws at you.
