of Searcy, AR
March 15, 1949 - January 7, 2022
Elizabeth Nan (Beth) Holloway Watson, 72, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Unity Hospital on January 7, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was born March 15, 1949 to Robert Allen and Hilda Mae (Darnell) Holloway in Mayfield, Kentucky. She grew up on an apple and peach orchard farm in Sedalia, Kentucky just seven miles south of Mayfield. Beth was a graduate of Mayfield High School. She attended Freed-Hardeman College from 1967-1969 and received her AA degree. She went on to Harding College from 1969-1970 and was a graduate of Memphis State University in 1972, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Beth married Robert R. (Bob) Watson on November 7, 1970 at the Lebanon Church of Christ in Sedalia, Kentucky and the couple were happily married for 51 years.
Beth's first job out of college was staff assistant to the hospital administrator of Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. When Bob and Beth moved to Searcy in January 1973 to work at Harding College, Beth became secretary to Dr. Jimmy Carr, Sr. and served in that role for almost two years until their first child, Rachel, was born. She then took on the hardest and most rewarding role of all, stay-at-home mom.
Wherever she lived, Beth was a Bible class teacher and was heavily involved in ladies' Bible classes, prayer groups and home Bible studies. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and volunteering in various church activities and school activities with her children and grandchildren.
Beth loved spending time with her family by visiting, listening, laughing, watching and going to the movies, playing card games, Bunco, Dominoes, and anything else the grandkids wanted her to play. Besides being with her family and numerous friends, Beth had a passion for traveling, the beach, cooking, puzzles, and walking in God's word. She was known for her beautiful smile, sweet disposition, and loving nature. She touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and love.
Beth is survived by her husband Bob Watson, and her children; Rachel (husband Darrell Welch, grandsons Davis and Cooper), Todd (wife Mary-Margaret Blue Watson, granddaughter Anna, grandsons Toby and Evan), Mark (wife Kea Ford Watson, grandson Austin, granddaughters Madison and Wesley), Russ (wife McKenzie Teague Watson, granddaughter Kate). Beth's father and mother preceded her in death as well as her sister Barbara Holloway Lax of Murray, Kentucky and her brother Tim Holloway of Sedalia, Kentucky.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. in the College Church of Christ auditorium, where Beth was a member. There will be a visitation in the Family Life Room immediately following.

Hated to learn of Beth's passing. Knew her and Bob only from Freed-Hardeman and Harding, but have fond memories of them both. From her memorial service was great to know they had a great live together and had a family to be proud of.
My condolences to the family of Beth. Even though I had not seen Beth in several years, I still felt like she was a friend. She had the gift of love for everyone no matter how far, how long or how well they knew her.
We are so sorry to hear of Beth's passing. Prayers of comfort for her family.
