Kenneth Vernon McClelland Jr

of Southaven, MS

September 13, 1972 - January 6, 2022

Kenneth Vernon McClelland, Jr. (Ken, Bubba) as he was known to friends and family passed from this life to his eternal heavenly home Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Memphis, Tennessee. He was 49 years of age. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth McClelland Sr., his paternal grandparents Morris and Doris McClelland and his maternal grandparents Clyde and Elizabeth Teague.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mom Janice McClelland of Turrell, Arkansas, his sister Beth Thompson, his brother-in-law Bo Thompson of Corinth, Mississippi, his dear Aunt Patsy, uncles, aunts, church family, special friends Christi, Dana and Mike, coworkers and other friends.

Ken was a fun loving and very caring guy He liked to pull shenanigans on his family and friends. He loved growing plants in his back yard, working on his home, and he loved his two cats he rescued, Mo Mo and Sushi He grew up in the Gilmore/Turrell area, lived in Marion, Arkansas and lived in Southaven, Mississippi since 1999.

He was a member Milan Chapel PCG located in Heafer, Arkansas and dearly loved attending church and each church member. He was a studious young man at Turrell High School, belonging to Beta Club and French Club He was salutatorian for the class of 1990 at Turrell, Arkansas. He attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas and studied accounting from Delta Vo-Tech in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Ken was a control room agent at Fruit of the Loom at Osceola, Arkansas from approximately 1991-1996. He worked as a control room agent at Mid South Milling in Memphis, Tennessee for several years part time. He began working at Fed-Ex in the hub and then went on to become a control room agent working in logistics. He worked from 1996-2021 earning his 25-year service pen in 2021. He was one of many who were recognized as Employee of the Year in 2020. He loved his job, his family, his friends, coworkers, but most of all his God!

He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and godly character. He treated others the way he wanted to be treated. He was a very kind man, who thought of others before he thought of himself. He will be missed by so many. We want to thank all the doctors and nurses at Methodist UT in Memphis, Tennessee for all the care they gave him. We want to thank each and everyone for their prayers, especially the prayer warriors that prayed everyday for him, and the love that was shown during his time of illness.

In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks a donation be made to one of the following: Milam Chapel Church, The Wounded Warrior Project or to Gideons International.
