Roberta Phillips

of Harrison, AR

March 26, 1941 - December 29, 2021

Roberta Phillips, age 80, of Bear Creek Springs, passed peacefully to her eternal home with Christ on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Roberta is survived by her children, Cindy and husband Brian Ramsey of Harrison, Wendy and husband Dan Evert of Harrison, and Justin Phillips and wife Sarah of Bentonville; her grandchildren, Brady (Emily) Ramsey, Kacie Beth Ramsey, Rocklin Wayne Phillips, Evangeline Jude Phillips, and Josie Hope Phillips; her great-granddaughter, Camilla Grace Ramsey; her sister-in-law, Sue Howard; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Dolph Phillips; her parents; her siblings, Wilma Mathison and husband Melvin Mathison; and her brother, Robert Howard.

Roberta was born on March 26, 1941, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Linza and Blanche (Lawson) Howard. She attended Ridgeway schools and graduated from Harrison High School in 1958. Roberta met Dolph and after a short courtship was married on July 12, 1969. Roberta was a switchboard operator and retired from Alltel Corporation after over 20 years of service. She was a hard worker and loved to provide for her family. She was always on the hunt for a good deal at garage sales, auctions, and local businesses. She made friends with everyone that crossed her path. She would help anyone with whatever needs they had and would go out of her way to help others who were down on their luck. Roberta found great joy being a grandparent and was loved deeply by her grandchildren as their ''Nannie''. She was a member of Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church.

Visitation was Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

The funeral service was Monday, January 3, 2022, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Enloe officiating.

Burial was at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Harrison.

Pallbearers were Brian Ramsey, Dan Evert, Tim Hunter, Brady Ramsey, Don Qualls, Robbie Evans, and Bobby Howard.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Blake Chitsey, the staff of Main Street Merchandise Outlet, former co-worker friends of Alltel, and the Deacons of Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church.

Cindy, Wendy, Justin,
Roberta was my cousin. She always had a smile when she came to see all the relatives at Grandpa and Grandma Lawson's house. She was always happy to see everyone who visited. She was "Bertie" to all of us younger cousins. I have enjoyed reconnecting with her over the last year or so. She was very kind to pray for my daughter Kelly and give encouraging words. I know you will all miss her dearly, until you meet again one day. God bless you all, Karen Conger and family

Spent many hours on the phone with Roberta in the last year. She would call every night between 7:30 and 8:30. Some nights there wasn't much to say but most nights we'd talk for over an hour. On those occasions she'd say, "guess I've gone on long enough, we sure solved some problems tonight didn't we."
The past few nights have been so strange without those calls.
Her three children and precious grandkids were her life. Dolph was her great love. Makes me smile to think of them together.
Wendy, Cindy and Justin; so sorry for your loss. Know you were loved and she and your dad will continue watching over you.
Take care of yourselves.

Penny
