O. Douglas Ellis, 82, of Paragould, passed away, Sunday, December 26, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Hardy to Offord and Myrtle (Soward) Ellis. He was of the Baptist belief. Doug was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He was a test soil engineer for Jacksonville Engineering. Upon his retirement he enjoyed doing woodwork.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 22 years, Ethel (Davis) Ellis; brothers, Ray, Gordon and Bill Ellis; sisters, Tressie "Toni" Simpson, Betty Ellison and Whillet "Billie" Griffin; and an infant granddaughter, Lauren Grace Ellis.
Survivors include; sons, Troy and Candy Ellis of Paragould, Fred and Ginger Ellis of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter, Treva and Michael Slater of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Michael and Shonna Slater, Jr., Creed Slater, Jarrad Ellis and Garrett Ellis; great granddaughter, Macy Slater; brother Warren and Linda Ellis of Jonesboro; sister, Wanda Rose of TX and Louise Haile of FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
No service is planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Sincerest sympathy to my cousins Treva, Troy and Fred on the loss their father and my uncle Doug. Slowly we are losing all of that generation but I am thankful for the memories we have all had over the years. Praying for all of you and blessed to have you as family. RIP Uncle Doug!

Sending much love and prayers for my wonderful cousins of Doug Ellis! I didn't even know Ethel had passed! He will be deeply missed by this niece for sure! Every Time I think of Uncle Doug, I just smile! I loved him so much! And even though I don't see a lot of my family, I cherish the memories of all of us together! I love my family! I miss my family!
