Georgia Mae Cartwright Passmore

of Mountain View, AR

May 29, 1929 - December 22, 2021

Georgia was born May 29, 1929, on her father's birthday in Fifty-Six, Arkansas. She was named after her father George W. Cartwright and her mother Ruth Mae Hendrix Cartwright. She married Chester E. Passmore on December 31, 1946. She went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; son, Ronnie; brothers, Edwin, Wesley, Jimmy, and Benny Cartwright; sisters, Opal Wallace and Marie Goodman.

After Judy was born, the family moved to Sunnyside, Washington, to find work. Georgia worked in apple and cherry orchards and canning factories while Chester worked on building the Hanford Dam. They moved back to Mountain View in the early 1950s and son Ronnie was born. He was killed in 1959 in a tragic accident. Jeannie was born in 1960 and Eddie in 1961. They opened a small grocery store in early 1960, then later opened the Piggly Wiggly store that they operated until Chester became County Judge. Georgia then went to work at the Ozark Folk Center Restaurant. After retiring in 1994, she, Chester, and Marie gardened every Spring and Summer. She would can hundreds of jars of green beans, pickles, jellies, and would put up over 100 quart bags of corn each season. She was a hard worker and a wonderful cook. Her chicken and dumplings and biscuits and gravy will never be replicated. Christmases at their house is a memory that will forever be cherished by all the children and grandchildren. She would wake up before daylight and begin cooking breakfast for the 30+ people in the house.

Georgia was a loving wife, mother, and Gran. She was a loving sister and a dear friend and mother figure to many. She will be dearly missed by her family and the ones that loved her!

Georgia is survived by her children, Judy (Don) Jones, Jeannie (Wayne) Dockins, and Chester E. (Terri) Passmore Jr.; grandchildren, Bob (Tina) Jones, Susan (Kevin) Green, Amy (Jason) Gammill, Chester E. (Missy)Passmore III, Joshua (Amanda) Passmore, Lacey (Richie) Haertlein, Brady (Chelsey) Dockins; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Lance) Cummings, Robert Jones, Bailey Green (Dalton), Haydon Green (Lilly), Jacie Gammill, Lexi Passmore, Hannah Passmore, Chester E. Passmore IV, Talia Passmore, Judah Passmore, Eli Haertlein, Lilly Haertlein, Hayes Haertlein, Hudson Dockins, Archer Dockins; brothers, Donald (Carol) Cartwright and Bobby Joe (Naomi) Cartwright.

Hi all,

I'm not sure anyone will see this or remember me, but I just found out about Georgia and I wanted to send my condolences. I'm Roy & Bonnie Massey's granddaughter Simeon; Chester was my Great-Granny Vera's brother. I met Chester & Georgia around 1999, and I absolutely adored both of them. I hope you are all doing well, and again, I'm so sorry to hear of Georgia's passing.

Judy and family, I am praying that you find comfort and peace with knowing that Miss Georgia is with our savior, Jesus. I am so glad that I was able to see her in 2018 during a trip back to MTN View. Miss Georgia was always kind to all of we kiddos during our years in school.
Blessings,

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.

I was thinking of Ms Georgia this morning early and all through the morning. Then I got a text that she had moved to heaven. I have known Ms. Georgia all my life. I enjoyed our visits and our friendship.

She has wonderful grandchildren that helped with taking care of her needs

She is now with the Lord and other family members and will be missed by her family and friends.

Georgia was loved and she was blessed.

Our prayers are with all of you.
