JC Jones, age 83, of Big Flat, peacefully passed away, Sunday, December 19, 2021, at his home. He was born July 2, 1938, in Round Mountain to Milton and Vear McClanhan Jones.
JC was a self-employed truck driver, hauling logs, lumber, and rock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising his hunting dogs as well as, going to car auctions, working with his cattle and horses, and maintaining a garden each year that provided for his family. He always made time for his family and was faithfully devoted to caring for his best friend and right-hand companion, Tootie. He had an opinion on everything, and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix, even when it required a little duct tape or bailing wire.
JC realized the importance of having a personal relationship with God. He attended the Assembly of God in Big Flat and Bethany Church in Onia. He supported the preachers in his family by attending where they were preaching even when he didn't feel well. He loved reading his Bible and talking about the Lord.
JC is survived by one son, Roy Jones and wife Brenda of Big Flat; two grandsons, Brandon Jones and wife Kala of Greenbrier and Josh Jones and wife Ashley of Onia; two great grandsons, Brayden Jones and Baby Boy Jones; three great granddaughters, Kaisley Jones, Jacie Jones, and Kesler Jones; three sisters, Troyce Hales of Bridgeport, Texas, Louise Davis of Marshall and Deloris Dubach of Greenbrier; along with nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy of almost 58 years and his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday at Big Flat Assembly of God, with Darin Holliman and Brandon Jones officiating. Visitation will be 9-10am at the church. Interment will be in Freeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brandon Jones, Josh Jones, Brayden Jones, Joe Davis, Jake Brewer, and Dennis Treat.
