Joshua Daniel Tackett, 41, of Marion, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
He was a graduate of West Memphis High School, Class of 1998. Josh attended Arkansas State University, where he received a B.A. in chemistry in 2002. He was a member and president of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and president of the Inter-fraternal Council. He was a member of Victory Church of the Mid-South.
Josh was an avid reader and enjoyed playing and listening to music. Other hobbies include hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He had a passion for learning and a great thirst for knowledge; but his greatest love of all was for his wife and beautiful baby girl.
He is survived by his wife, Amber Tackett; one daughter, Piper Tackett; father, Gary Cavenor; mother, Brenda Cavenor; sister, Terri Ramsey and step-sister, Kitty Ledbetter.
He was preceded in death by his step-sister, Amy Osment; and his grandparents, Thomas and Edna Dickerson.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Victory Church of the Mid-South, 897 Angels Way Road in Marion, Arkansas. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) or the National Institute of Mental Health.

When I saw this obituary being shared Saturday, I cried. Josh was a HUGE part of my childhood. We had our own little group of friends, but we were best friends. We may not have been in touch as adults, but I always remember him on his birthday and telepathically send him a happy birthday. I know he was greeted in Heaven with open arms by my parents. They loved him as their own.

Josh was a good friend in high school. He always had some quick comment to come back with when I was being smart mouth to him. He had an infectious smile sometimes it was meaningful sometimes a little devious! He brought joy to a couple of memories I have in high school usually from him picking on me in a good way.
