Julius John Gerard III

of North Little Rock, AR

January 2, 1955 - December 14, 2021

Julius John Gerard III departed this life on December 14, 2021, with his loving family by his side. He was born January 2, 1955, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean Puckett, father, Julius John Gerard, Jr., and brothers, Michael Gerard and Bill Gerard.

Johnny spent his youth living in Rose City and Bentonville at various times.

For over 30 years, through Quality House Levelers, Johnny served his community with foundation repair. Along the way, he trained and supported others learning the trade. Foundation repair was not his only talent. He could build, repair, paint, or craft anything; he even sewed doll clothes and dresses for his grandbabies! A true artist of many mediums.

Johnny had an infectious personality that was unmatched. He was quick witted, smart, charismatic, charming, and loyal. He was especially passionate about the success and well-being of his family and friends. His wife, kids, and grandkids were his pure pride and joy. ''Dad'' and ''Papa'' were his favorite roles. He always had a story to tell and met no strangers. He was a friend to all, and like a brother to the lucky.

He helped mentor others and demonstrated perseverance in rising above obstacles as presented. The sheer outpouring of care and concern for him by many since his passing only goes to show how many lives he has touched, and that his connections were lasting and special. Johnny was one-in-a-million; if you didn't love him, he would at least make you laugh. The world has lost the body of a wonderful man, but his spirit will live with us forever.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vicki Gerard; his children, Julius Gerard IV ''Jay'', Jodie Waldron (Reuben), and LaChelle Clark; his grand-daughters Macie Clark, and Maggie, Ellie, and Ruby Waldron.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am., Saturday, December 18, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, with a visitation to follow.

To Vickie, Jay, Jodie and all of Johnny’s grandchildren,

Helen and I want to express our condolences to each of you. We didn’t have the opportunity throughout the years to visit very often, but when we did, it was always a pleasure to talk and laugh with Johnny. He had a great personality and always made us smile. May God bless and comfort you, at this time. We love you and will continue to pray for you, daily!

My thoughts and prayers to Johnny’s family. We’ve never met, but Johnny was my bud. We grew up together in Rose City, and we were inseparable until they moved to Bentonville after our 6th grade. We reunited in high school and he was a great friend. I went to my first rock concert with him at Barton Coliseum. Three Dog Night. He was such a great guy, loyal to a fault, and just hilarious. Some of my fondest memories are time I spent with him. God bless.

One of a kind human being. Enjoyed many times with him and my dad together! Times I will never forget. Learned so much just from being around them both. He was always so easy to relate too and you could talk about anything with him. I’m proud to be able to spend the time with him that I did. He will be missed!
