Ruby M. Long, 92, of Jonesboro, passed way Saturday, December 4, 2021, at her daughter's residence. She was born in Jonesboro, December 23, 1928 to Ossie A., Sr. and Vivian Shockley Taylor. Ruby worked thirty years and retired from Frolic Footware. She attended Bay First Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, baking, decorating cake and fishing.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband of fifty-three years, Glendal Long; son James D. Long; brother, Ossie A. Taylor, Jr.; sister, Betty Ferguson; grandson, Alan Wayne Smith; son-in-law, Jerry Garrett.
Survivors include, daughters, Diann Long (Gary) Smith and Sandra-Long Garrett; grandchildren, Tonya (David) Long, Amy (Frankie) Green, Marlin (Mandy) Tice, Cory Long and Beth (Dustin) Clegg; Great Grandchildren, Cole (Carolina) Long, Hunter (Lindsey) Green, Brett (Malorey) Green, Connor Long, Raegan Long, Kendall Long, Gavin Tice, Cayden Long, Laynie Clegg, Avrie Tice, Hadley Green, Selah Clegg, Jud Clegg, Millie Tice, Maisie Tice ; great-great grandchildren, Declan Long, Oaklynn Long and Lena Green.
Funeral services will be at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, on Tuesday, December 7, at 2:00pm with Danny Taylor officiating. Pallbearers are Cole Long, Hunter Green, Brett Green, Connor Long, Gavin Tice and Cayden Long. Serving as honorary bearers are Marlin Tice, Cory Long, Frankie Green, David Long and Dustin Clegg. Burial follows at Nettleton Cemetery.
Visitation is at the funeral home preceding the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
Diane and Sandy, I am just now seeing this. I had no idea. Mom loved your mother so much. They were such good friends. Prayers for you both and the rest of your family.

Diann, I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss. She had to be a wonderful lady because she has a wonderful daughter named Diann. I wish we could come to the service but I'm not traveling very far from Conway. I've been to Mtn View but we haven't been to Forrest City since graduation but hopefully we will make it next Monday because Emma has a piano recital. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I love all of you!

Praying for the family and friends. I loved Ruby and have known her all of my life. She and my mother were long time friends. She has always seemed like family to me. We will see each other again.
