We were neighbors. The last time we saw John was when he brought one of the grandchildren down to swim. We had no idea! We had no idea. If you all need anything-we are right here by the house. We feel awful. He was so excited to move to Nashville.

Nicole, Amy, Laura and the rest of the family, I was so shocked when I read of John's death. All of you have really been hit hard these past three years. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. The thing I remember most about John was what a fine gentleman he was. He had a great sense of humor and he was a kind and gentle man who loved his family very much. We will all miss him very much. I feel he and LaDohnna are happy together in Heaven now and no longer missing each other. We can all rejoice in the fact that they were both very good Christian people. We love all of you and hope to keep in touch with all of you.

I first met Brother John when he was preaching at Victory General Baptist Church. He and your mom always made a point to talk to me and I really enjoyed the conversations. When he and a couple of members would sing before the preaching it was beautiful. He preached in a way using everyday situations. Brother John was very devoted to his wife, daughters, and family. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very caring and gentle man. May God wrap his arms around all of you in this difficult time.

Bro. John was a wonderful pastor at Mt. Harmony. My parents, Billie and Avanell Saffell thought a lot of him, his wife and lovely girls. He loved my mother’s coconut pie. Heaven gained a wonderful person. ❤️🙏🏻

My sympathies to this sweet family. I knew him and Ladonna from Victory Baptist in Jonesboro years ago, was a member there and played music with Ladonna. She and John were wonderful Christians and I loved them both. Prayers to all the family.

To John Freeman's family, I am so sorry to hear of his passing!
He lived down the road from us, and worked with my husband, William Lyvone Thornton, at Roller Farmer's Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Lyvone grew up in Grubbs, Ar, and was well acquainted also with his father-in-law, Hoover Lewis.
Sincere heartfelt sympathy to each of you!
